The quiet rooms
Behind arched doors, each room is its own small world — hand-smoothed walls the colour of sand, a bed dressed in white and monogrammed cotton, a pair of woven lamps throwing a warm glow once the sun drops. Antique spindles and fringed textile hangings stand in for ornament, and the medina's clamour never quite reaches this far. Mornings arrive slowly here, filtered through a fretted wooden shutter.
Up on the rooftop
Climb to the roof and the whole medina opens out — a low sea of terraces and satellite dishes, the Koutoubia minaret rising beyond, the High Atlas a pale line on clear mornings. Woven chairs sit under thatched parasols; by day it is a place to read and doze in the sun, and by evening a spot for a pot of mint tea as the light turns rose and the call to prayer rolls across the rooftops.
Staff could not do enough to help us, breakfast was great, location was perfect. Daily cleaning to high standard.

Our tips
The hammam and hot spring bath
Book the hammam for the afternoon, when the steam makes more sense than sitting by the pool. The hot spring bath, a massage and the beauty treatments are all arranged through the same desk, so the rest of the day can be planned around them.
The rooftop after dark
Climb up once the sun has gone behind the medina's rooftops, for the view the house keeps for the evening: a starry Marrakech sky over the flat roofs below. Nobody schedules anything up there, so stay as long as you like.
Jemaa el-Fna, three minutes off
The square is a three-minute walk down the lane, close enough to see for an hour and come back to the quiet behind the riad's door. It is the reason this address exists at all, and also the reason the door is worth having.
The Koutoubia and Bahia Palace
Both are within walking distance of the riad, and make an easy pair to see in one outing: the Koutoubia first, then the Bahia Palace. Head back to the rooftop once the walking is done.
Every place here has at least one room, apartment or house that sleeps a whole group in one booking. We check two things in the booking data: the guest limit of that unit and the beds in it. Two rooms of four never count as a room for eight.
