The house keeps a freshwater infinity pool that reaches toward the caldera, edged with sunbeds and umbrellas and angled at the sunset. Below it, suite terraces step down the rock with their own plunge pools and hot tubs, so a morning swim can be had in near-total privacy. Late in the day the water turns copper as the sun slides behind the far headland and the fishing boats swing at anchor far below.
The cave suites
Sleeping quarters are true cave rooms, tunnelled into the caldera and finished in soft white and warm earth tones. Arched niches hold the bed and a reading corner, a small window is punched through metres of rock to catch the sea, and a woven throw or a splash of Cycladic blue is the only pattern in the room. The thick walls keep the suites cool and hushed through the bright hours of the day.

The pool and view was seriously amazing. The room was awesome. They brought me breakfast and I had my own private whirlpool which I used a bunch of times. I loved Old Castle Oia, so glad I stayed here!
