The terrace beyond the garden is kept for guests only — outdoor chairs, nobody else out there. Bring a book from the small sitting room downstairs and the afternoon is yours.

Breakfast in the buffet room

Breakfast is a buffet, laid fresh in the ground-floor breakfast room every morning before the pintxo bars in town properly open. It's the one meal served on site, so treat lunch and dinner as your excuse to walk into San Sebastián.

The room with the balcony

One of the sixteen rooms keeps its own balcony over the front garden, with the line of Peñas de Aia beyond it. Ask for it if a private balcony matters more to you than extra floor space.

Games and books downstairs
